ABOUT THE AREA
If you rememer the lonesime whistle of the railroad locomotive, visit the W. B. Strong Memorial Railroad park Although you will only find the rear end of a train here, an authentic Santa Fe Caboose. The park is also furnished with picnic tables, flower beds and walkways. The town had its beginning when the Santa Fe Railroad was completed to it in the early 1870's, although at the time is was called Cottonwood Station which was the original name of that point. However in the early 1880's the citizens renamed the town Strong City. Around 1913 the Sante Fe rairoad replaced the depot which is part of the park and when the park was established, donated a caboose.
