ABOUT THE AREA
Established in 1836 as Catharinestown, Montour Falls is the second largest village in the county, named in honor of Queen Catharine Montour, a French woman & last chief of the Seneca tribe that lived there. Nearby Havana Glen abounds in hiking trails & waterfalls; Catharine Creek is noted for its rainbow trout.
