The highway that seems to appear everywhere in Kansas, US 50, passes along the Northern edge of town.

The Milburn Stone Park Complex provides much of the rotdoor recreation for Burrton residents. It was named for Milburn Stone a TV favorite on the Gunsmoke series, in which he played Doc Adams, and former resident of the community. It has within its area the municipal swimming pool, a lighted tennis court, sand volleyball court and 2 baseball diamond fields. There is a picnic area with playground equipment and the Flickinger Memorial Activity Building as well. The fishermen in this town and from elsewhere as well will surely flock to Harvey County West Lake. This lake is loaded with Bluegill, Crappie, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and Largemouth Bass. Make no mistake about it though; hikers, picnickers, campers and swimmers will also enjoy a visit to this lake.
