There are two facilities in this town which occupy quite a bit of acreage. Hesston College is a two year Mennonite college which offers degrees in in many majors as well as 3 year degrees in fields such as Nursing and Pastoral Ministries and four tranfer programs in fields such as Art and Business Administration. The school is also known for its performing arts center which presents musical and other productions and the Dyck Arboretum of the Plains. This facility displays native wildflowers, grasses, schrubs, trees and selected adaptable plants. The Hesston Golf course is visited by golfers from throughout the state.
