US 59 and US 160 meet as a "tee" at the center of Oswego

The history of Oswego can be written from the stories about the eras which took place in the city such as the Osage Indians habitation of the area, the Trading Post era, the Civil War Era or the coming of the railroad. Riverside park is located on a bluff over the Neosho River. The city owes much to the group of pioneer ladies who had a vision, for the acreage along the bluff and purchased it. On its over 80 acres are a public swimming pool, playground equipment, shelter houses, the community center, tennis courts, basketball court, RV parkand ball fieldsaswell as the Labette County Fairgrounds. The Oswego Municipal Airport is located miles east of the city and for some it provides a convenient way to visit the city. Its runway can handle light, small aircraft.
