US 81 separates the Western poart of town from the Belleville Cementery and runs South to meet US 36 at the Southern edge of town.

The body of water which was once a water supply for steam engines on the Rock Island Railroad was given to the city of Belleville and is now known as Rocky pond. Although this not a big area it is now a recreational facilty with rest rooms, RV hookups, sewer dump, playground equipment, a boat dock, shelter houses and picnic areas. It is an excellent place for fishing since it is stocked with blue gill, channel cat, bass and trout. Only electric motors are allowed on this pond. Thanks to the WPA a swimming pool and band shell were built in the 1930′s in what is now Belleville City park. Other facilities have since been added such as baseball and T-ball diamonds, tennis courts, playground equipment, soccer field, basketball courts, restrooms and shelter houses. More recently rest rooms with shower amenities, a shelter house and seating at the band shell have been added.
