COMMENTS
US 54 passes a little to the North of the town and meets SR 251 which runs along the Western border of the town as South 391st street.
ABOUT THE AREA
The arrival of the railroad gave a start to this town and continued to support its development around the turn of the century from the late 1880's to the early 1900's. Its economy at that time was largely self sufficient with the establishment of a number of local businesses. There were several general stores, hardware stores, competing banks, a hotel, shoe store, photographers and a furniture store, plus an undertaker, coal yard and harness shop amny of which no longer exist. The business community which has grown up and continues to exist meets the needs of its residents, basically now living in what is a bedroom community.
