South Meridian avenue runs along the Western border of town and Grand avenue runs though its center and meets US 81 and the Kansas Turnpike (IS 35) which runs thriugh the Eastern part of town.

The city is trying to increase home ownership throiugh its grant program. This program proides grants to applicants who are purchasing a new custom construction home or an existing spec home which has never been owner occupied or rented for more than 12 months. Its activity center with its Cardio room, gymnasium, lighted outdoor basketball courts, walking track, game room and dance room is another way the city is trying to attract new residents. For recreation there is also the Chris Elsen Memorial skate park and the Haysville Disc golf course.
