SR 232 running along the Eastern side of Wilson meets SR 140 which runs right through the center of town. Is 70 runs just above the city.

You know there is a heritage of Czech settlement in this city when you attend the After Harvest Czech festival in July of each year. This dates back to the 1870's when Czech immigrants came to work on the rairoad. The festival has a parade, a beer garden, car and tractor show, volleybal, softball and horseshoe tournaments , the tractor pull and the usual arts and craft and food vendors. The czech heritage is not forgotten with the Czech Queen pageant, Czech dancers and the local band playing polka and Czech music. The Midland Hotel, the Weinhold House, the Wilson Downtown Historic District #1(Main Street) and the Wilson Downtown Historic District #3 (Southside) are all listed on the National Register of Historic places. If you are visiting Wilson try to see these sites.
