Lyons District Court is the Twentieth District Court of Rice County in the judicial district court system of Kansas.
ABOUT THE AREA
The old Carnegie Library and a newer, adjacent structure make up the buildings of the Coronado-Quivira Museum in Lyons. Displays focus on the history of the early inhabitants, Spanish explorers, the Sante Fe Trail, and the coming of homesteaders and permanent settlers. There are exhibits on display dedicated to Francisco de Coronado's 1541 expedition, Quiviran and other Native American Indian Culture, locally made or used tools, medical technologies and other general historical collections, clothing and textiles, photographs, and an extensive archival collection of books, scrapbooks, correspondence and other records. Take a look at the interesting story hour statue outside the museum.
