US 40BR and US 281 are two major roads serving Russell and IS 70 runs by the Southern end of the town.
ABOUT THE AREA
A lot of fun can be found at the Russell County Free fair held each July. The 4H clubs are a big part of this fair. Featured are horse, sheep, hog and beef shows with a Livestock Auction at the end of the fair.
There are also cooking, quilting, produce, arts & crafts and woodworking displays. If you get hungry attending all there is to see visit one of the many food vendors. Other summer fun is waiting at the
F. L. “Duke” Johnson municipal swimming pool. This fairly new and modern facility is equipped with water slides and large sunshades.
