ABOUT THE AREA
Malverne is just south of the Southern State Parkway, and not far from Franklin Medical Center. The name has nothing to do with the Laverne of Laverne & Shirley. The village is serious about policing, with a "police reserve" but they still suffered a rash of burglaries in the first quarter of 2007. They think they've got the bad guy now. He was probably annoyed that the most famous person from the village is that Danza actor guy from Taxi. Tried to be more famous, but didn't make it. Sorry buddy.
