US 73 and US 159 running together along the Eastern border of Hiawatha and US 36 which they meet in the Southern part of town are the major roads here.

The Brown County Agriculture Museum is a unique place which all vistors to Hiawatha should try to see. The different features of life on the farm are represented in the exhibits which include a miniature farm, a train caboose, a collection of antique tractors, antique gas powered engines, and the famous Windmill lane. Certain to get your interest are the over forty windmills in Windmill lane, the blacksmith & woodworking shop, the Anderson House - Carson postoffice and the turn of the century country schoolhouse. Unusual in terms of memorials is the one erected in Mount Hope Cemetery by John Milburn Davis to his wife Sarah. Beneath a canopy or around it are 11 life-sized marble or granite statues of the of the Davises.
