SR 99 ends at the Southern leg of SR 9 in town, which also turns Northward.

In the late 1860's, some residents of Marysville formed the Frankfort Town Company; which susequently led to their purchase of a section of Kansa to the Southeast of Marysville for the the site of their new town originally called Frank's Ford. One year after this purchase, seven buildings were erected in the new town followed by the erection of over 50 additional buildings in 2 years. The Tale of the Trail Museum has displays telling the stories of the trails, in particular the Oregon Trail, which crossed through this region
