For a glimpse back in time you can come to the Annual Nemaha County Heritage Days festival held in October. At this event different speakers will regale you with stories of the past. The Nemaha County Jail and Sheriff’s residence which was in existence since around 1879; is now the home of the Nemaha County Historical Society, since the the jail was replaced by the new law enforcement center. With the addition of two buildingsto to exhibit the artifacts of the Historical Society, the complex is now a museum. In July, the Nemaha County Historical Society holds its Annual Tractor Cruise and Tractor Display as part of the Nemaha County Fair week. Tractors capable of going 12 miles per hour are welcome to take part in the thirty mile cruise to Bern, St. Benedict and back to Seneca where a barbeque meal will be served. . of all ages are welcome.
