Residents of Liberal who wish to go to points East or West of town will find US 54, which runs through the lower half of town, convenient and those wishing to travel North and South can use US 83 and US 270, which are just to the East of town.

There are several spendid places to visit in Liberal. The Mid-America Air Museum, located at Liberal Mid-American Regional Airport houses more than 100 aircraft consisting of everything from military aircraft to hang gliders and ultra-lights and even the smallest Air Force One ever used by a President of the United States. The statue of Don Francisco Vasquez de Coronado , just off highway 54, points the way to the Coronado Museum on the grounds of the Seward County Historical Museum. The museum exhibits items that helped to settle the territory during its Wild West heyday such as an an extensive weapons display as well as a large collection of things such as a beautifully restored ornate antique organ, quilts and home furnishings. On the grounds you will also find Dorothy's House carefully restored and furnished to replicate the house shown in the movie "The Wizard of Oz" with a statue of Dorothy holding Toto out front. The Land of OZ, located here, consists of good and bad witches, the Munchkins, talking trees, winged monkeys, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and Toto animated characters.
