Yates Center District Court is the Thirty-First District Court of Woodson County in the judicial district court system of Kansas.
ABOUT THE AREA
The annual Mardi Grass (not Mardi Gras) celebration held in Yates Center in July is a rural heritage celebration. It is held in conjuntion with the annual Hay Capital BBQ Cook-off and Motorcycle Show. The BBQ cook-off is a Kansas City Barbeque society sanctioned event. as many as 40 teams compete for cash, prizes, and bragging rights. There is also an opportunity to glimpse at some interesting vehicles at the antique tractor and car show that takes place at this event. You can also hear some lively music played throughot the event and take the kids to the petting zoo.
