ABOUT THE AREA
The first settler in this area was a Quaker who came here, towards the end of the 18th century, from Lancaster County Pennsylvania, after immigrating from Padenburgh, Scotland. However, it was not until around 1916, several years after the establishment of the first bank in this town, that the city was incorporated under the ownership of much of the land by the Paden City Land Company. The Paden city museum holds many mementos, implements and pieces of furniture representative of the history of this city.
