ABOUT THE AREA
Calhoun County Park which has hiking and bicycle trails also is the site of Heritage Village a collection of historic buildings renovated to period history. The buildings include the Stevens one room school with its assortment of old school desks and other items found in a schoolroom of the 1880's, the Jarvis general store, the Starcher Blacksmith shop and the Freed post office. All these buildings were donated by their former owners and moved to sit and restored by volunteers.
