Peeled Chestnut Ridge-Anawalt road is the biggie through Anawalt.
ABOUT THE AREA
Incorporated as recently as the middle of the 20th century this town still has as little as under 250 residents in it. Just a couple of miles Southeast of Anawalt is a great place for fishing and hunting. Anawalt Lake a close to 7 acre body of water in the Anawalt Lake Wildlife Management Area, constructed in the early 1990’s, was stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill fingerlings a few years later, with adult channel catfish annually in June and with Trout monthly from February through May each year. There are steep slopes of mountainous hardwood forest with oak-hickory forest types on drier sites and yellow poplar/black cherry. The prospects are good here for hunting bear, deer, ruffed grouse, squirrel and turkey.
