ABOUT THE AREA
As befits a city this size, and the city does not let its population down in this respect, it has seven large parks, five swimming pools and four community centers. It also has its Art Deco style concrete and steel structure built in the 1930's which is its Municipal auditorium listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The facility hosts musical and theatrical shows, concerts and other performances by local, state, national and international artists. It has a large seating capacity making it accessible to large numbers of people for reasonable prices.If you want to see some good minor league baseball visit Appalachian Power park home of the West Virginia Power team and also the site of other entertainment events.
