ABOUT THE AREA
Originally known as Cranberry summit, the town of Terra Alta was first chartered as Portland around 1860 and incorporated 30 years later under its present name. Alpine Lodge is a large popular winter and summer resort near the city which has facilities for Fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, skiing and golf with cabins and camping available for lodging.
