Potomac State college, which is a division of West Virginia university, is located in Keyser. The school offers courses in several majors such as Agriculture, Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Education and Engineering. In addition to awarding Bachelor degrees in Business Management and Criminal Justice, two year Associate degrees transferable to West Virginia university are awarded. The athletic teams which go under the name the Catamounts take part in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
