US 59 coming in from the North meets US 136 coming in from the East in Tarkio and they go off together to the South.
ABOUT THE AREA
There is an empty college campus here waiting for somebody to use it. Tarkio College operated as a four year liberal arts college until around 1993. After that it operated as a school for troubled youths; a pursuit which has since been abandoned. So if you have a mission and the teachers come ahead. In addition to the Tarkio City pool there are the additional recreational facilities provided by Sycamore RV park, available for short term or term camping, Niedermeyer park and South City park. The city's community building is available for rent and can accommodate any number of uses from a wedding to a family reunion.
