ABOUT THE AREA
The city is ahead of most cities when it comes to green energy; it is capable of being 100% wind powered. In fact it is the first 100% wind powered community in the United States with just four wind turbines doing the job of supplying all the electricity for the town. Rock Port has a city park with a swimming pool, nine hole golf course and club house, baseball diamonds, volleyball court, horseshoe pitching pits, tennis courts, basketball court, a large picnic area and an all-weather walking track. For those who want to escape the city for some relaxation, there is Charity lake a few miles to the Northwest of the city where you can enjoy the foliage or do some fishing. The lake is known for its variety of fish including largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie.
