US 59 makes a right turn at the Western edge of Fairfax then heads East across the town. This court holds its hearings in the Atchison County courthouse.

This town of close to 650 people sits on the East bank of the Tarkio River and covers an area of less than 1/2 square mile. The city has a nice community park for taking it easy or throwing a ball around.
