Close to 46,000 people live in this community in the San Juan River Valley known as the Four Corners There are many sites in the area of the Anasazi Indian civilizaton. Two places in this city are wonderful attractions for youngsters. The Riverside Nature center is a site where visitors can see birds and animals through large windows overlooking a wetland where food and water attract wildlife. The wetlands were constructed with the intention of exhibiting the plants and animals of the riverside. The center also includes herb and xeriscape demonstration gardens and trails from which visitors can catch glimpses of the wildlife which take refuge here. The E3 Children's Museum & Science center offers kids the opportunity to interact with exhibits demonstrating sound, light, magnetism, shadows and art. The Pinon Golf Course was rated the Number 1 municipal course by Golf Digest.
