SR 5, SR 240, SR DD and SR E all enter Fayette.

The main campus of Central Methodist University, a school over 150 years old is located in Fayette. Its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers programs in a wide range of subjects leading to Bachelors and Associate degrees and through its College of Graduate and Extended Studies offers associates, bachelor and masters degrees at approved sites throughout the state of Missouri. A short distance West of Fayette there are three lakes which are great spots for hunting, fishing or hiking or to enjoy the outdoors. D.C. Rogers Lake has a boat ramp, fishing jetty, shelter house, camping, a shooting range, disc golf course and restrooms. Fishing is good here with the Missouri Conservation department stocking this lake every year and you can count on catching largemouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill, carp and on a rare occasions a yellow perch. Peter's Lake is also popular place for fishing and boating. Rickett's Lake, located on Shields Road is a small lake with a nature trail and exercise course.
