SR 100 (Manchester road) runs through Ellisville.

An army captain from Kentucky settled in the area that was to become Ellisville before 1837. The slaves he brought with him built his home, later known as "Ellis House", with bricks that were handmade by them. However, the incorporation as a village did not occur until the 1930's. In the 1950's the residents voted for it to become a a fourth class city. At the Ellisville EDGE Aquatic center you will find an eight-lane lap pool, children's splash pool, two slides, zero depth beach entry featuring an infinity edge waterfall, along with a bathhouse and concession stand. Bluebird Park has pavilions, the largest of which has water, electricity and barbecue grills; ball fields, tennis courts, fitness course and a Disc Golf course. To support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, the city conducts an annual 5K Run and Walk in the park in October; the proceeds of which go to the foundation.
