SR 5 and SR 52 come into Versailles from the Northeast and parts ways abiut halfway through town, with SR 5 going South and SR 52 going West.
ABOUT THE AREA
The Hite Prairie Conservation area lies near the Southwest corner of Versailles. This area is known to have over 150 native plant species and prairie animals such as the Regal Fritillary butterfly, Henslow’s Sparrows and Northern Crawfish Frogs and its large variety of wildflowers. It is one of the easternmost fragments of what was once the large Osage Plains prairies that covered the majority of the landscape to the west. Versailles city parks have baseball fields, soccer fields, walking trails, grills, picnic tables and a swimming pool.
