ABOUT THE AREA
The Hunter-Dawson Home State Historic Site is an antebellum house consisting of a two-story, 15-room frame structure of an eclectic style with Georgian, Greek Revival and Italianate influences and representative of the elegant mansions that once stood along the "Great River Road". Its furnishings are the original ones installed by the owners. The Higgerson School Historic site is a restored one-room school in which one teacher taught eight grades and which is located at Higgerson Landing
