ABOUT THE AREA
Garden City is located nearly 20 miles east of NYC in the Town of Hempstead. Aviator Charles Lindbergh took off for his historic transatlantic flight from nearby Roosevelt Field. Founded by the multi-millionaire Alexander Turney Stewart in 1869, this village of 22,000 people is considered quite posh, with median family incomes well over $100K. Property prices are high and so are the taxes, but the village has a nationally renowned school district and is a great place to live and raise a family. The Cathedral of the Incarnation in the village was supposedly built in 1876. The village also houses the tony Roosevelt Field Mall and the Long Island Children's museum. Garden City Country Club, Golf Club and Adelphi University are all 5-minutes walking from the courthouse. Meadowbrook Parkway is nearby too.
