ABOUT THE AREA
Approximately 76 camper hook up sites are located at Shelbina lake. In addition there are facilities for fishing, boating, shelter houses, a 9-hole golf course, playground equipment, volleyball court, tennis court and basketball court. The annual Shelby county fair held at Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbina takes place in July. The event includes livestock and poultry shows, a car show, lots of musical entertainment and good food. Another event that takes place at the fairgrounds in July is the Annual Backyard Smoke Off. Prizes are awarded for the best Chicken, Ribs, Pork Butt or Pork Loin and Brisket. If you come to this event, you might be lucky enough to taste some of the contestant's dishes.
