Ava Circuit Court is the circuit court of Douglas County in the Forty-Fourth Judicial Circuit of the Missouri Circuit court system.

The annual Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association (MFTHBA) celebration draws over 4,000 fox trotter enthusiasts to Ava each Sepetember. This event held on the association’s nearby campus, which includes multiple arenas, barns and campsites. Usually close to 700 of these horses take part in over 170 classes in horses’ gaits and body structure, and their other abilities in competing in barrel racing, pole bending, cattle cutting and English pleasure riding. The festival comes to a close with the naming of the MFTHBA World Grand Champion. Celebrating the fact that Ava is the home of the Missouri Fox Trotting horse, the MFTHBA also holds a show in June, the Annual Three Year Old Futurity/Spring show at their show grounds. This show has competition in over 70 classes featuring the best 3 year olds the breed has to offer.
