The beginning of June is the time for the annual War Eagle Appreciation Day. The celebration includes float trips, live music, education exhibits, arts and crafts and games. The focus of the day is on the history, ecology, and enduring legacy of the War Eagle Creek. The ladies in town, for a fee can enjoy the annual Women's Outdoor Weekend held in Withrow Springs State park at the beginning of May. Basic sessions on outdoor safety, nature journaling, outdoor cooking, paddling, nature photography and other subjects are given during this weekend.
