Greenwood County Court is the Greenwood district branch of the Sebastian County court.
ABOUT THE AREA
There is an interesting site to visit in Greenwood; the Sebastian County jail, circa 1892, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings and Places. This two story, four cell jail was built by a single family in town with stone from a nearby quarry. There are still visible messages left by the inmates on the walls and floors of the cells. The jail has been converted to a museum with artifacts representative of the history of the area. Exhibits on display include the history of coal mining, the Hartford Music Company, and the life of Greenwood native governor John Sebastian Little. The jail also is the centerpiece of a complex consisting of the restored 1848 Vineyard Log cabin, the Ole Barn and the Redwine Pioneer schoolhouse which have been relocated to the site.
