ABOUT THE AREA
Yelleville was founded around 1835 and incorporated in 1855. It was originally known as Shawnee Town and then renamed for the Governor who had also been a a Federal judge and Congressman. The present day residents of the town are employed in the lumber, agriculture and tourist trades. North Central Arkansas Speedway, located to the Northeast of town hold s races every Friday night during the warm months featuring Hornets, Mini Stock, Pure Stock, Hobby Stock, B Mods, Super Stock and USRA Modified autos.
