ABOUT THE AREA
Four lakes lie within Horseshoe Bend; Cedar Glade lake, Diamond lake, Lodge lake and Crown lake. All of them are good fishing spots except Lodge lake which is located on the Turkey Mountain golf course. The historic Horseshoe Bend Theatre located in the Diamond B Mall was at one time the scene of live shows and movies, but now it is the scene of the monthly music and variety show, held the third Saturday of each month called Music in the Mountains. Admission is by donation. The Horseshoe Bend Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Dogwood Days celebration held in May and takes its name from the Dogwood trees are in bloom at the time. It features games for the kids, a car show, food and craft vendors, live musical entertainment at the gazebo in the park and the annual Dogwood Days golf tournament at Turkey Mountain Golf course.
