Des Arc Circuit Court is formally known as the Northern District branch of the Seventeenth Circuit Court of Prairie county in the Arkansas Judicial Circuit court system. It has one and the same clerk, mailing address, phone number, fax number and is located in the same building as the Northern District branch of the Prairie County court. The Northern district is generally considered to be North of IS 40.

To celebrate Des Arc's history as an important stop for steamboats transporting lumber as well as cotton the city holds its annual Steamboat Days. people attending this festival can enjoy a number of events such as a carnival, singing competitions, concerts, several cook-offs, fireworks and a car show. Lake Des Arc is a body of water over 300 acres in size and maintained by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
