ABOUT THE AREA
One of the main entry points, which has a parking lot, to the High Bridge Trail is at River road in Cumberland. This trail was built on what once a rail bed and its surface is of finely crushed limestone. It is intended for use by hikers, bicycle riders and horseback riders. One of its outstanding features is High Bridge, which is over 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River and for which the state park is named.
