Goochland county has a few recreational venues which give residents their money's worth in indoor and outdoor recreation. Hidden Rock Park, in Maidens, is equipped with a basketball court, sand volleyball area, playground, soccer field, illuminated baseball and softball fields, picnic shelters, concession area, dog park and walking trail. Tucker Park at Maiden's Landing in Maidens provides a public access point to the James River along a waterfront longer than 1000 feet. It also has an open stage for musical events, a launch for canoes and kayaks, open space for recreation, an archery range and an observation point for birding. The Goochland Sports complex and Central Recreation complex in the city of Goochland has a gymnasium and dance studio, classrooms and a weight room. The surrounding area has a skate park, illuminated multi-purpose athletic and softball fields, walking track and picnic area. At the Central Recreation complex, also located in the city of Goochland, you can find multi-purpose athletic fields, walking track and a picnic area. All in all some nice places to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
