Wytheville Magistrate serves Wythe county in the Twenty-Sixth judicial district of Virginia. Although it is in the Twenty-Seventh district, it is under the chief magistrate for the Twenty-Eight judicial district.

The Wytheville Community Center is a great place to fill your recreational sports or exercise needs. The facilities provided include a cardio and weight center, the Aquatics Center main pool, water park play area with slide, therapy pool, hot tub, indoor climbing wall, full court basketball gyms, aerobic studio and walking track. Folks running the center do not mind if you want to take it easy in the youth and teen center or adult and senior lounge. The city also has several venues for enjoying the outdoors. There is the McWane Pool an outdoor pool for public swim and available for private pool rentals. Crystal Springs Recreation area, where the the remnants of an old reservoir still remain, is a good place for for picnics, camping, hiking and biking. Elizabeth Brown Memorial park has open space and trees in which there is a covered shelter with picnic tables, bathroom facilities, covered stage and gazebos. McWane Shelter, located next to McWane pool and Withers park, has a number of picnic tables and outdoor grills. Withers park has a walking trail and playground. The Wythe county Wall of Honor is located in this park.
