COMMENTS
Webster City District Court is formally known as the district court of Hamilton County in the Second judicial district of Iowa. IS 35 crosses US 20 in this county and residents also have the benefit of US 69, SR 17 and SR 175 on which to travel.
ABOUT THE AREA
The history of Webster city and the Boone river, along which it sits, is exemplified by an original settlers cabin and Indian artifacts displayed in the Kendall Young library and the Bonebright Museum complex in consisting of an Illinois Central Railroad Depot which has been restored and a complex of historical buildings and sites which have been located on a area near Brewer Creek to recreate the history of Hamilton County. Several companies of United States Dragoons were the first people outside of the Native American Indians to see the area now occupied by Webster City. The city was originally referred to as Newcastle-on-the Boone by its first settler. The city was later called just Newcastle and laid out around 1854. The laid out city plot was then purchased by a businessman newly arrived to the area and was originally considered to be part of Webster County.
