COMMENTS
The county court and district court, located in the same building, are both in the First judicial districts of Nebraska. There are some good roads in Richardson such as US 73, US 75, US 159, SR 4, SR 67 and SR 105; but don't get the idea that you can barrel along on them.
ABOUT THE AREA
Falls City was founded around 1857 and the first home here was built by an abolitionist couple. No doubt drawn by the fact that Falls City was the Nebraska base on the “Lane Trail” through which free-state emigrants could be funneled into Kansas. A pleasant place to spend a day in this city is at the Itha-Krumme Memorial arboretum where you can see 70 different species of native plants from Nebraska and adjoining states. There are two museums in the area. The Richardson County Historical museum has on display numerous artifacts from the history of the county and the Richardson County Military History museum exhibits their collections of war memorabilia, including photographs, uniforms, and equipment from WW I, WW II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and Company B, 134th Infantry, Nebraska Army National Guard. There are plenty of places to enjoy the outdoors in this area. In addition to the 12 parks with all kinds of recreational facilities there are recreation and wildlife areas in the nearby towns of Humboldt, Shubert, Verdon and Preston. Mural Park has a number of historic murals which show scenes from the history of Falls City from its settlement around 1857 to thepresent day.
