ABOUT THE AREA
It is believed that the township is named after the Union Furnace which was built in late 1600s in the region. The township houses nearly 6200 people. The township complex conveniently houses the town hall and the Union municipal court under the same roof on 140 Perryville Rd. US Rt 22 and Interstate-78 bisect the township. Union township has a population that is more diverse than its neighbors. Spruce Run State Park is a prominent recreation area. Union Forge Nature Preserve is another place worth visiting.
