If you are in the Franklin County courthouse you can look for the county court (Box 174) and the district court (Box 146) each of which is in their respective Tenth judicial district of Nebraska. US 136 and SR 4 cross Franklin county and are met by SR 10 going through the length of the county.

In what had been Pawnee country and was now open for settlement, the Knight company, one of several companies organized to settle towns in the area, settled the city of Franklin around 1871 although the town had been founded one year earlier. The Franklin County museum consists of three separate buildings each holding artifacts and memorabilia of early settlers, American Indians, military service, county citizens, farming and ranching.
