COMMENTS
If you are in the Franklin County courthouse you can look for the county court (Box 174) and the district court (Box 146) each of which is in their respective Tenth judicial district of Nebraska. US 136 and SR 4 cross Franklin county and are met by SR 10 going through the length of the county.
ABOUT THE AREA
all around Franklin you will find verdant farmland, native prairie, springs and creeks in close proximity to a host of walnut, elm and cottonwood trees. In what had been Pawnee country and was now open for settlement, the Knight company, one of several companies organized to settle towns in the area, settled the city of Franklin around 1871 although the town had been founded one year earlier. The Franklin County museum consists of three separate buildings each holding artifacts and memorabilia of early settlers, American Indians, military service, county citizens, farming and ranching. In addition to the main building there is the one-room 1880's schoolhouse and Ol’ Towne which is a replica an old West township. Hunters are attracted to the county because of the abundance of game such as whitetail and mule deer, turkey, pheasant, dove and quail in public land preserves
