Along the Along the Rocky Mountain Front in this county there are spots where you can see goats, bighorn sheep, elk or white tail and mule deer. A part of Chouteau County was taken around 1893 to form Teton County. The city of Choteau is the county seat of Teton county. Wheat and barley farms, cattle ranchers and tourists all contribute to the economy of Choteau. Nearby Lewis and Clark National forest and the Bob Marshall wilderness with trails and many fishing opportunities offer residents a great deal of outdoor relaxation.
