Troy Court is located in Montana's Nineteenth judicial district. US 2 passes through all of Troy and intersect the majority of East-West streets in town.
ABOUT THE AREA
Troy is located to the extreme of Lincoln county and is considered to be the gateway to Montana. When gold was discovered in this area in the 1860's neither fear of the Indians or the ruggedness of the terrain could people from coming. However it took the Great Northern railroad's establishment of a freight depot at the site for the town to get going. around 1910 forest fires threatened the town, but with the help of the railroad the town pulled through. Around 1895 a ferry was built and employed to cross the Kootenai river at Troy; however around 1910 a rider, while the ferryman was gone, took the ferry out upon which it ran aground downstream and then was lost down the river. Roosevelt park on the Kootenai river has a lot of facilities including the Osprey pavilion, picnic tables, a Barbeque area, baseball fields, a soccer field, a basketball court, children's playground, a cooling pond, fishing pond and a boat launch. The Troy museum and Visitors' Center, greets you as you Troy from the East on US 2. The museums displays consists of items related to the history of Troy. It is also where the frisbee golf course is located.
