Deming District Court is Luna county's Sixth district court in the judicial district court system of New Mexico.
ABOUT THE AREA
After the first year into the twentieth century the New Mexico legislature created Luna county from the Eastern part of Grant county and the Western part of Dona Ana county. The county is on the border with the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It is the area where Pancho Villa and his troops made their last land invasion of the United States to loot and burn the Village of Columbus in the Spring of 1916. Not only does Luna county have a large farm population producing chilies, pecans, cotton, melons, sweet onions, and grapes but it is also home to agricultural product processing plants.
