US 2 runs along the Southern border of Stanley and meets SR 8 which runs through the town.

Flickertail Village museum is an amazing collection of 18 buildings including a depot, jail, school, church, homestead, a dollhouse, a miliner's shop, chicken coop and country store. A Girl Scout collection and restored dolls are among the thousands of artifacts on display in the museum's buildings. It all started with the relocation of the Burlington Northern depot to land once occupied by the Stanley airport. THe town has a couple of park facilities. Wilson park has playground equipment, a horseshoe pitching court, and volleyball and basketball courts. Next to the park is the na Mae Rude Aquatic center which is an indoor warm water therapy center. There is also a camper and tent park in town with shower facilities and electrical hookups.
